Bittergourd (Karela) Paratha

What do we need?

2 Bitter Gourds cut up into fine slices thin enough for being easily grinded, green chillies finely diced, red chilli powder, masala powder, salt as per your requirement, tamarind soaked in water to make a pulp, turmeric – pinch of it.

How do we make it?

Soak the bittergourd in the tamarind pulp and remove after an hour. Grind this into a fine paste. Make sure that the seeds of the bitter gourd are removed before soaking in the tamarind pulp and then grinded.

Once grinded, then prepare the dough by mixing it with whole wheat flour, salt as per your taste and a small spoon of ghee.

Prepare dough balls and make parathas. Serve hot with tomato or chilli sauce.
