What do we need?
Quacker oats-1 cup, poha- 1 cup (beaten rice), cumin seeds, mustard seeds, chopped green chillies, onions finely chopped, cooked potatoes chopped into cubes, tomatoes finely chopped, capsicum finely chopped, grated carrots, salt to taste, red chilli powder, one spoon sugar,finely chopped coriander, turmeric, oil, roasted groundnuts, cashews to garnish.
How do we prepare it?
Wash the poha and oats in a bowl and keep aside to dry. In a non stick pan, add a bit of oil. Add cumin seeds, mustard seeds, chopped green chillies and sauté. Add the groundnuts to it. Add the onions and capsicum and let the onions turn golden brown and then add the tomatoes,grated carrots and potatoes.
Into this mixture, add the oats and poha and stir well. Add salt, one spoon of sugar, turmeric powder, red chilli powder & the chopped cashews & coriander leaves. Sprinkle lemon juice after it cools off a bit otherwise the bitterness comes off the lemon.
Serve hot with tea or orange juice!
